Breaking — What Goes Up Soundtrack On iTunes

The What Goes Up Movie Soundtrack from Amherst Records went up on iTunes today, April 29, at around 4 p.m. The soundtrack includes "Any Other Day," an original single by Hilary Duff, which Robert Lawson wrote with her and Jonathan Glatzer.

The sountrack can be accessed via iTunes here [ http://tinyurl.com/dcckgu ].

The single provides a much richer mix and higher quality sound as envisioned by Richard Vission than the popular :30 teaser released on YouTube, which still earned almost 16,000 views in less than seven days (and counting).

The album was announced just days ago by David Parker, co-producer at Amherst Records. The street date (physical CD) is set for the week of May 4.

The album also includes songs from (track order, not repeated) The Innocent Bystanders, Roddy Bottum, Jeremy Wall, Anthony Miranda, Electrelane, Al Sgro & The Brendan Hines, and David Bowie. There are 17 tracks, with a run time of 60 minutes.

More details to follow tomorrow, along with the lyrics to "Any Other Day." Additional interviews with featured artists will also be available. Other distributors are expected to follow the iTunes release. Don't have iTunes? Get it here.

  3. Hi, I´m a fan from Hilary Duff.
I was thinking about one way to make the soundtrack more noticed.
Hilary need to perform the song "Any Other Day" in programs like Ellen Degeneres, Jay Lennon, Much On Music, Dance With The Stars...
Is a good way to make the song powerfull. We fans already doing our part (buying the song and asking on radios stations)... Now you guys need to help us too. We want a sucess too.
A music video is a good ideia too.
    Thanks

  4. Hey Tacio,

We agree with you! We are working with Hilary Duff's team and several cast members from the film, arranging schedules and setting appearances. In fact, we have one very talented firm working exclusively on these tasks.

We really appreciate your passion and efforts. 1000 percent!

    All our best,

  5. yup,i totally agree with what Tacio said. The song would definitely hit home, with what was suggested. It would be a crying shame if the song ended drifting away without much impact.

  13. I see where it is said that hilary plays a narcissistic seductress in the movie, i dont really see any evidence of that in the trailer, or in any clips. pity. Will there be any other trailers? Or is this the final one? More clips or an extended trailer? Hmm.

So happy that the sountrack and single is finally available, It is sounding good, and hopefully the sountrack and single can help the movie and vice versa

  16. Hey Everybody!

Everyone seems like they want to make a video and multiple versions of this song. It's being talked about in between the rush of locking in theaters, planning screenings, appearances, and hundreds of other little things. We'll keep you posted as these items continue to develop!

  17. Oh gosh, This song 'any other day" needs to do well, seriously. There is something about the song... I have heard others say that they are obsessed with it, and i am pretty sure that some of those who do not like it now will like it after few more listens.. so yeah,a video would be a good idea in my humble opinion. It is good to know that at least it is being considered

  18. Dig Any Other Day. Dig Electerlane. But that band - the Innocent Bi-standers is really finger down the throat time. I think I saw that 3 of their tracks are just bonus for the soundtrack. That's good, cause otherwise don't think I'd want to have sit throguh a movie with 4 of their songs!!
Can you confirm that there is only one of their songs in the movie? Thanks.

  19. @Naja

If iTunes is any measure, it continues to climb ... now 41 on her most popular songs list.

    @Kitty

Most of the film uses fills and instrumentals you hear on the soundtrack.

It's been interesting to see how their songs are playing next to Hilary Duff. It's very different music; yet, seems to have caught some cross over interest.

But for you, specifically, we don't recall the songs as a dominant part of the movie. Then again, we only saw the rough cut.

    All our best,
    The Insider Team
