Win A One Night Screening In Your Hometown



The producers of What Goes Up are pleased to announce the opening of the What Goes Up "Home Hoopla Contest" to win a screening of What Goes Up in your hometown. The first place prize includes a one night showing in your hometown (U.S. only) with complimentary admission for the winner and up to ten friends in June. The remaining seats will be open to the public for regular admission.

Write a letter, record some audio, or make a video that shares something about you, your hometown, and any compelling reason to host a one night screening in your hometown. The winner will also receive a prize pack that includes a DVD, CD, and poster, all signed by various members of the cast and crew. (Receivable when made commercially available to the public.)

Hometown Hoopla Contest


The Contest. Write a letter, record some audio, or make a video that shares something about you, your hometown, and any other compelling reason to host a one night screening in your hometown.

How To Enter. E-mail the letter or submit a link to your audio or video submission to whatgoesupinsider@gmail.com before May 25 and include "Hometown Hoopla Contest" in the subject header of the e-mail.

Prizes.

First Place. A one night public screening in your town or city, with up to ten free tickets for you and your friends and other prizes as noted above.

Second Place. Prize pack to include a DVD, CD, and poster, all signed by various members of the cast and crew. (Receivable when made commercially available to the public.)

Third – Fifth Place. A theatrical movie poster signed by the producers of the film.

Promotion Period. The Promotion begins at 7 a.m. EST on May 13, 2009 and ends at 12:01 AM EST on May 26, 2009, when all entries must be received.

The first place winner must agree to identify the theater of their choice in their hometown (or nearby town) and work with the producers to help find a venue if that theater is not available. The official rules follow in the comment section of this post. Entering this contest does not preclude an individual from entering any other promotion.

  1. Hometown Hoopla Contest Official Rules.

    By entering this Promotion, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification. All decisions of the judges regarding this Promotion are final and binding in all respects.

    1. PROMOTION. This Promotion is void where prohibited by law. Entries must be received before 12:01 a.m. EST on Mon., May 26.

    2. ELIGIBILITY. This promotion is open to any resident of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who is at least 18 years old as of the date of entry, except officers, directors, members, and employees of the Sponsor, the judging organization (if applicable), or any other party associated with the development or administration of this Promotion, and the immediate family (i.e., parents, children, siblings, spouse), and persons residing in the same household, as such individuals. Entrants who are under the age of 18 may enter with expressed consent of a parent or guardian and that parent. In the event they should win the first place prize, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to any showing.

    3. PRIZE LIMITATION. Because of the nature of the first place prize, Safety Glass Productions, Ltd. (Sponsor) cannot be held liable if a theatrical arrangement cannot be made. Any residents who are unable to claim the prize or fails to cooperate with the producers will forfeit the prize with no other compensation, monetary or otherwise.

    4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. All entries will be judged on or about May 27, 2009 (the "Judging Date") by a panel of judges comprised of producers with Safety Glass Productions, Ltd. (Sponsor).

    5. PRIZE DESCRIPTION. There will be five (5) winners. The first place prize is a public showing in the hometown of the winner, ten (10) free tickets to attend that one night showing, and a “prize pack.” The approximate retail value of the prize is $1,500, depending on exact itinerary. Actual value may vary based on fluctuations in theatrical availability. The second place prize includes a DVD, CD, and poster, all signed by various members of the cast and crew. (Receivable when made commercially available to the public.) The third through fifth place prize is a theatrical movie poster signed by the producers of the film.

    6. TAXES. All federal, state and/or local income and other taxes in any applicable jurisdiction are the winner's sole responsibility. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 24 hours from the date the Sponsor first tries to notify him/her, and/or the prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such potential winner forfeits all rights to win the promotion or receive the prize, and an alternate potential winner may be selected.

    7. OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE. All entry materials become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. The copyright in any Submission shall remain the property of the entrant, but entry into this Promotion constitutes entrant's irrevocable and perpetual permission and consent, without further compensation or attribution, to use, reproduce, print, publish, transmit, distribute, sell, perform, adapt, enhance, or display such Submission for any purpose, including but not limited to editorial, advertising, trade, commercial, and publicity purposes by the Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor, in any and all media now in existence or hereinafter created, throughout the world, for the duration or the copyright in the Submission. Sponsor and/or others authorized by the Sponsor shall have the right to edit, adapt, and modify the Submission.

    8. NO PRIZE TRANSFER OR SUBSTITUTION. No prize or any portion thereof is transferable or redeemable for cash. Any portion of the prize that is not used is forfeited. No substitutions for prize except by Sponsor, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.

    9. RELEASE. By entering the Promotion, each entrant releases and discharges the Sponsor, judging organization (if applicable), and any other party associated with the development or administration of this Promotion, their parent, subsidiary, and affiliated entities, and each of their respective officers, directors, members, shareholders, employees, independent contractors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, "Sponsor Entities"), from any and all liability whatsoever in connection with this Promotion, including without limitation legal claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages, demands or actions of any kind (including without limitation personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction or property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light).

    10. DISCLAIMERS. (i)Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incorrect, garbled, or incompletely received, for any reason, including by reason of hardware, software, browser, or network failure, malfunction, congestion, or incompatibility at Sponsor's servers or elsewhere, will not be eligible. (ii) Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Promotion at any time for any reason, including, with limitation, if it is not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, force majeure or technical failures of any sort. (iii) The Sponsor is not responsible for errors in the administration or fulfillment of this Promotion, including without limitation mechanical, human, printing, distribution or production errors, and may modify or cancel this Promotion based upon such error at its sole discretion without liability.

    11. APPLICABLE LAWS AND JURISDICTION. This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of California. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this agreement shall be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles, California, and by entering the contest, all contestants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection of inconvenient forum.

    12. WINNER LIST. All winners will be announced on the What Goes Up blog and contacted via the e-mail used to make the entry submission.

    13. SPONSORSHIP. This Promotion is sponsored by Safety Glass Productions, Ltd., (individually and collectively, the "Sponsor").

    14. PROMOTION PERIOD. Promotion begins at 7:00 a.m. EST on May 13, 2009 and ends at 12:01 a.m. EST May 26, 2009, when all entries must be received ("Promotion Period").

    We may duplicate the contest in the other countries when that time comes. However, distribution rights for some countries belong to other distributors.
